Like a rooster crowing early in the morning reminding you of a nourishing petit-déjeuner (French breakfast) perhaps, it’s a reminder of one’s new beginning. Staying at Le Coq Bleu, you’d be transported back in time much like another reminder how the present time is but another chance…

A chance at “chancing upon chance” itself. Just when you thought you’ve chanced upon a good homestay deal for all the hype as experienced by others, you’d be in for a firsthand encounter of the extraordinary. It’s not enough to find out about it. Besides, the likes of it are subjective. Getting to feel, taste and savor the overall vibe of it means going through a chance of a lifetime. The second and succeeding visits would most likely be an “Oath of Association”; if that’s not even an “OA” way of putting it as One Affirms the established Le Coq Bleu correlation. It’s personal…

Oui! À bientôt (Yes! See you soon) would most likely be how “OA” you’d express your “Ouvert Au revoir”. Pardon my French as much as others who’d most likely be expressing themselves perhaps. They’d turn blue stammering for the right words. Turning blue though isn’t from trying to be “romantically fluent” (as French sounds) but experiencing the “Bleu” one would most likely gain (not out of the blue but) out of their Le Coq Bleu homestay. Actually, one’s Objectif Affiché (stated objective) to try Le Coq Bleu turns into an Objectif Accessible (attainable goal) considering how it’s an accessible must-try kind of a visa-free France countryside trip. Although, it’s not like that “Eiffel (I fell) for that notion” sort of a thing as it’s not how you’d most likely picture it to be. Le Coq Bleu is more personal than having the Eiffel Tower as backdrop. Though likewise instagrammable, Le Coq Bleu homestay is more like your access to a French connection sans the substantial outlay, distance and all. Yet, Originale or Authentique to say the very least, considering how “OA” that is. But then again, it’s as pure as having a French woman for a friend. Yes, that’s how personal it could be.

Baguio has all sorts of lodging. An authentic homestay is a typical accommodation with the local household for that homegrown touch and honest-to-goodness hospitality. Whereas for a French homestay, there’s even cultural immersion/insight, home-like environment, etc. Homestays nowadays or those claiming to be one aren’t that “homey” anymore. Or at least, there seems to be some confusion between a staycation, a homestay and a transient home. So, just imagine the authentic French experience you get at Le Coq Bleu. Your ‘French connection’ will have a whole new meaning and interconnection. And true to how it’s authentique, you get that genuine Old-school Ambiance (OA) like it’s a fusion of authentic and antique. Filled with object d’art ranging from heirlooms, knickknacks to artworks and whatnots wherein every item seems to be telling a story as engaging as your would-be French host, Chantal Michaut-Pangilinan. A French woman married to a Filipino, it’s similar to how Le Coq Bleu is a marriage of warmth and straightforward comportment; now if that’s not French candor and Pinoy “comport” that’s “meant” to be experienced…

More than a tangible experience though, it’s a nostalgic journey. When ‘French’ isn’t limited to a person but an Overall Awareness (OA) towards that link… A connection with emotions. It’s an establishment of a relationship much like holding on to a sentimental piece. Similarly, Le Coq Bleu supports other local artists with the display of their artworks available for sale while adding up to the stories eager to be told. True enough, it’s a gallery of conversation pieces. ‘Le conteur’ (the storyteller) that she is, Ms Chantal is a beautiful story herself. She’s part of what makes Le Coq Bleu a home worth your stay. The “home” in homestay and a worthwhile reason to stay… However, la option is yours. If you opt for that “quaint and quiet” vibe, that’s also a cue observed at Le Coq Bleu, as much as the calmness ‘blue’ signifies. With their separate garden cottage or the loft for un choix, that’s une possibilité. The hospitality industry, as subjective as that of a guest/client’s preference and taste, may compete in all these familiar Offerings and Amenities (“OA”) but Le Coq Bleu has something others don’t have. You’d be brought to (a) PARIS (Privilege, Advantage, Relation, Immersion, Soulful) experience you can only gain from Le Coq Bleu, a BFF ~ Best French Forever.
